Michael's expertise in team building and facilitation, corporate turnarounds, strategic planning and growing revenues and market share for large and small technology companies has produced numerous successes.
His extensive career in high-tech spans three decades. During his career, Michael has held a number of technical, marketing and senior management positions in technology companies, including: TVR Communications, Ener1, Boca Research, Boundless Technologies, AT&T/NCR, Veeco Instruments, and UPA Technology.
Michael has also provided strategic planning and management consulting to organizations and companies including: Fun2Focus, Boca Greens Country Club, Dr. Jan Mark Burte, Ph.D., P.A., The Milton H. Erickson Institute of Southeast Florida, Biometrics Marketing, T-Block, Boundless Corporation, TVR Communications and QuickQuote.
Following the completion of a strategic planning assignment for TVR Communications, Michael joined the company as its Chief Executive Officer where he spearheaded two strategic acquisitions and led the formation of the company's Interactive Media Division.
Previously, Michael served as Chief Marketing Officer of Ener1, Inc. where he was responsible for marketing and sales across all of the company's business units. Prior to Ener1, Michael was President of the Boca Global Division of Boca Research, where he had P&L responsibility for all of the Boca Research’s product lines, including PC add-in cards, software and other consumer electronic products. Michael successfully negotiated the sale of the division to competitor Zoom Telephonics.
Before Boca Research, Michael served as Executive Vice President of Marketing & Corporate Strategy for Boundless Corporation. He was also a member of Boundless Corporation's publicized “Power Team", chartered to develop innovative business and marketing strategies.
Michael was recognized as the architect of Boundless’ successful thin-client product line, with the company assuming a leadership role in this field.
During the period of his responsibility for strategy and worldwide marketing and sales at Boundless, Deloitte & Touche placed the Company in the top 100 of their Fast 500 list of fastest growing technology companies in the U.S.
At AT&T/NCR, Michael was a member of an elite internal venturing team, chartered with defining future new businesses and developing improved business planning processes. He had previously served as Director of Marketing and, prior to that, as Senior Product Manager for the company as well.
Michael has been widely quoted in the media, including: The Wall Street Journal, Computer World, Information Week, the New York Times, InfoWorld, The Palm Beach Post, Computer Business Review, For the Record, and numerous information technology, and many other publications. He has published several technical papers and has spoken at major industry conferences, including Comdex, American Society for Quality Control and others worldwide. He has contributed to several computer, scientific and other technical publications, including: “Thin-Client/Server Computing”, “The Handbook of X-Ray Spectrometry”, and “The Tool and Manufacturing Engineers Handbook”.
Michael earned his B.A. from Hofstra University where he also worked toward his MBA and Masters in Computer Science. Michael holds certificates in Strategic Planning, Product Realization Process, and Product Management from the NCR College of Management. He is also a Microsoft Certified Professional.
Michael serves of the Board of the American Marketing Association South Florida.
Michael lives with his wife, Beth, in Delray Beach, Florida. He has two children, Jacob and Meryl.
